Although the longevity of NAPLAN in its current form is currently being questioned, it’s important to know what it can and can’t do for your child, and how to keep students calm during NAPLAN week.
What can NAPLAN do for your child? And what can’t it do?
In short, NAPLAN is an exercise in collecting statistics around the educational performance of students Australia wide.
For individual students, there is so much variability in performance on the day, that it becomes hard to use NAPLAN as an accurate measure of an individual’s performance.
At Sponge, we believe that NAPLAN is not the best measure of student’s success – there are better ways.
What can you do to keep your child calm during NAPLAN week?
Encourage your child to:
– Do their best
– Don’t worry too much about preparation
– Try to enjoy it
– Don’t worry too much about the results
